"Fursona7, would you mind telling me what you're doing in the Department Of Energy sponsored furry convention?"
This isn't even wrong. From the Metroweekly story:
[Pup] Gryphn’s roots in puppy play began slightly over a year ago, but his interest in headspace dates back to the early 2000s, when he was first introduced to the “furry” community, a subset of the fetish and kink community where people dress in costumes that have the anthropomorphic characteristics of an animal. He began chatting with people in online forums, including the virtual roleplay game, Second Life. In 2010, he finally attended his first convention for furries — Midwest FurFest in Chicago.
I know you're out there, you've commented before.
HEAR ME FURRIES:
You have to stop them. You have to stop this.
Non-furries can't do this from our end. We only deal with them once they are already in power. There's a reaction deficit at play.
Only you can stop this. Only you can nip this in the bud before they get intentionally promoted to that position of power. They are rewarding degeneracy and dependency, and exploiting vice as a weapon of control.
These are people who's psychological and dependency issues are being turned into fetishes rather than being treated, those fetishes are then being weaponized for political control.
You have to deal with these people at your level, and teach them to deal with their problems, teach them that their fetish is a crutch, and not something to be enabled. Worse, the furry fandom is being used as a recruiting ground for worse things. It's a radicalization cycle. We've already seen that furries have been weaponized by the political left in internet moderation and activism. You have to confront the enemy at the very base of their activity.
I know some of you are based enough to do this. Subvert active measures, and confront people and ideas, even during the conventions, the discord communities, and all of that scene. Talk to these people. Introduce them to anti-Leftist perspectives. Talk to them about responsibility and virtue. Talk to them about fixing their issues and rejecting people who enable them. Hell, if you're a Christian, wear a cross on your fur suit, and just deal with the responses you get. (Christian Zealots, don't @ me on this, you gotta start somewhere to bring some people to Jesus. Think of them as missionaries in savage land.)
The more work you do now, the fewer victims will be made for Mr. Brinton, and the less work we have to do on our side.
Whatever disagreements we all have, at this point, we're all in this together, because we're all in the same sinking ship.
