There was a time when the Oscars had some good movies. For me it was Oscars had fun good to watch movies and the Golden Globes had pretentious politically inspired movies that no one wanted to watch.
But for the past some years they've turned Oscars in to pretentious diversity awards. Now it is even mandatory to have a certain percentage of "minorities" (non white males) to even be nominated for the Oscars. Movies like Titanic, Lord of the ring or The Shawshank Redemption would not even be nominated.
