I'm not going to stop them if they're shoplifting from a company with a policy against their employees doing so, like WalMart and all the chains. If it's a smaller store and the owner or cashier is screaming at or running after said shoplifter, I'll be happy to trip him up if I can.

Exactly. I'll help protect those that are unable to protect themselves, but the only thing stopping Walmart from protecting itself is Walmart.
