So after seeing the news about how the sales of gay superman are tanking (color me surprised) I remembered how a few weeks back an owner of a comic book store that I met at a convention I was working told me I could make some quick and easy cash selling my Female Thor #1 and my Ms. Marvel #1 as soon as their shows come out. I bought those back when I still had the "give everything a chance" mindset. I gave that mindset up a while back, then reading Don't Give Money to People who hate You kind of solidified it.
It is funny about the whole gay superman thing. At what point do you realize that while most people have no animosity against the lgbt crowd or while I may have a religious objection I have no desire to harass anyone about how they live, they are still a very small group and a lot of people are probably not interested in stories that push it heavily.
There's a reason religions object. The behavior is cultural cancer and will spread if not nipped in the bud.
I’m a Christian and believe that homosexuality is against the Bible. I just meant that I don’t go around harassing them but some of them think that I’m hurting them by not applauding them
I'm 100% in the same boat. I've got an adopted sister who's gotten caught up in the lifestyle, and we all love her dearly, but we won't pretend it's healthy or support her and her "wife" sleeping together when they visit.
If anything, we know for a fact it's unhealthy because we know the psychological roots. She was neglected by her mother and abused by her mother's lovers. She's with an older woman because she's trying to recover that relationship she never had. (Which honestly, must sting for mom, seeing as she did her best....)
In a way, you are. Deep down they know there’s something not right about it, and a common thread for evil is that it’s not enough for you to allow it to exist. You must be made to praise it as the good, because even a flicker of the truth can wipe it out instantly.
The good and normal are content to exist without the validation of others. Reality just is. Fantasy needs constant reinforcement to prevent reality from intruding.
