The tournament was scheduled to be held next month.
Literally the only gaming event in this entire year that I was planning on watching and they cancel it on the same day of the game's fucking 4th anniversary.
Why the fuck is Japan of all places cucking this hard?
The mass hysteria over an endemic virus that 99.99 percent of people will survive has managed to drive the entire world into accepting insane tyranny pushed by the globalists.
I am starting to wonder if it is even possible for the world to ever go back to 2019 conditions?
I live in Texas now and things are relatively normal here except for some of the leftist sheep that are still wearing masks.
I previously had a lot of gripes about 2019 conditions but I still would take that in a heartbeat over the dystopia we live in nowadays.
It is soulcrushing to accept that the globalist scum have managed to completely destroy centuries of civilizational advancement in the blink of an eye over this joke of a virus.
And this... Is... to go... even further beyond!
HHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK
It seems like countries with the lowest case rates are the ones with some of the strictest or unreasonable rules. They still try to hold on to the "zero covid" theory, and have a wildly exaggerated view of the dangers of the pandemic because most of what they know is from the media and not first-hand experience.
As for Japan their rules are just inconsistent and weird. Designed to look like they're doing something but not actually impose on citizens too much. Game tournaments are an acceptable sacrifice.
I don't know anything about this game or tournament, but I presume the competitors were to be there in person and since they call it a "world" tournament it would be from other countries. They may have very well had to cancel it because of Japan's travel restrictions.
Yeah this fighting game tournament was supposed to be in person with players from France, U.S. and Spain coming to Japan to play against Japanese players.
The joke that is the Omicron variant of COVID somehow prompted these ridiculous travel restrictions from Japanese government:

The Japanese government is entirely responsible for this clown parade. Namco Bandai just foolishly announced this cancellation on the game's anniversary of all days.
Yeah I don't quite get why they continue to block what's pretty much all outside travel there. My understanding at least within the country they've not been all that draconian. Sometimes I wonder if they just decided they don't really want travelers that much and use virus as a front for that.
Japan has relatively been based in terms of not accepting refugees or immigrants so I can see the angle that they are merely using this as an excuse to prevent Gaijin from entering Japan.
Japan is nowhere near as draconian as the worst COVID zero cult offenders like Austria, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Israel and New Zealand.
Japanese government somehow had a based memo saying people and businesses should not ask for any person's vaccination status and that vaccination is not mandatory and should be a personal choice.
I am just salty that a country that is this sane still somehow manages to suddenly close their borders over Omicron and thus cancel the only gaming event that I really wanted to see this year.
No likey digusting foreigners. https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2020/09/b7a412698d9e-feature-foreigners-in-japan-becoming-target-of-discrimination-due-to-virus.html
Probably due to the current spike and the looming inevitable 5th state of emergency which would force them to shutdown anyway....Rules during SOE below
What facilities may close or have limited operation? Malls, theme parks, theaters, museums, bars and restaurants serving alcohol will close or face fines. Large facilities such as department stores are asked to close every floor except those that sell essential items such as food and medicine.
The following may have closures, shorter hours or limited capacity:
Exercise facilities such as gyms, swimming pools and sports centers Facilities related to gatherings and exhibitions such as public halls, cinemas, venues, theaters, museums and libraries Recreation facilities such as nightclubs, bars, internet cafes, karaoke, pachinko parlors and arcades Daycare centers, nursing schools, and centers for the elderly may also be affected.
Also the ruling faction behind the LDP is very anti foreigner, yes that includes white people, so they're keeping the borders closed as long as possible to keep the filthy gamer weeb gaijin out.
Bamco is probably one of the most pozzed jap gaming company. Remember the logo change?
typical bandai/bamco learning the wrong lessons. God have mercy for the gundam IP
Japanese population is very old.
You apparently don't know what "based" means, because you seem to think it means being an open borders globalist. Japan telling foreigners they're not welcome because they don't want to deal with their foreign bullshit is Japan being based.
Which they NEVER mandated.
