The amusing thing is, either this works and Reddit gets screwed over, or it doesn't and the mods (who do Reddit's job for free) get screwed over. Win-win :D
To be fair, the current state of reddit IS mostly due the unpaid activism of the tranny jannies. But they were doing their masters' bidding, so I'm happy to see either side burn.
Sure, Reddit is worse but jannies on other commercial sites like Twitter and Facebook get paid. Meanwhile on Reddit they don't see a red cent of all that ad revenue and IPO money. That's gotta sting even the most tranniest of jannies.
Reddit won't pay them. They can't. That would make them employees and beneficiaries to all sorts of things according to their country of residence. In my country, an employee is entitled to two extra months of salary per year and a month of paid vacations, among many other things. It's untenable. If worse came, reddit would have to ban them all and get ddos and maligned, but eventually things would go back to normal.

Are we sure they're unpaid? I really think a lot of the activist powermods are on somebody's payroll, just not reddit's.

Twitter, Facebook and Youtube manage to pay their jannies.
They only make millions on ads. No money for employees
Reddit can afford to throw the jannies a few extra bannannies ;)
free month modding r/staycations or r/realcatladies gone wild
It's a shame they both can't lose.
