Important point: both of the Swedish girls I seriously dated (as described above) had foreign names… One very German. The other very Italian. And yet they were both VERY Swedish. So there you go…
Then they where not truly Swedish, it takes special genes to survive and stay happy in this far northern climate. Foreigners can easily get depressed and go insane, just the way you described, especially women. It's a shame really, wish you better luck in the future.
