Shouldn't there be also many Turkified Slavs and Albanians (and Jews) who fled or were deported to Turkey after the 19th century wars of independence? And there were many hundreds of thousands of North Caucasians who fled or were deported from Russia at the same time. (And there were even refugees from the Russian occupied Poland, for example the famous Polish-Jewish-Lithuanian "national bard" Adam Mickiewicz died in Istanbul under a Turkish name, as did several Polish war heroes from the anti Russian uprisings.)
The Turks are a mix of the Turkics with various ex-Byzantine, Balkan and Caucasian peoples.
