Again you mean? Even before the latest cycle started in 2014 there was Jack Thompson and others pushing this claim and asking how video games might have been related to particular events when they happened. Horseshoe is just on the other side now.
They must leave the slaves no comfort to retreat to. Submitting, obeying, paying women. Game-time reduces they amount of daily submitting and obeying you will be doing. And working. Work, respect all women, raise your wife's children. I don't see how gaming benifits women, so gaming has got to go.
Not sure what Jack Thompson's politics are but it was Tipper Gore, the Democrats and the media who spearheaded the whole anti-gaming initiative. It wasn't the conservatives, although a number of Republicans went along with it like they always do.
Look up Joe Biden in the 1990's. He said some crazy things back then about video games.
Edit: C-span is very, very useful for this purpose.
Some of us got our first exposure to both politics and Hill Dawg because of her crusade against gaming, as she was the biggest name doing it for the news to tell our parents.
Yes, the left's leadership is very, very old. They don't have a younger cohort other than arguably even more insane people.
I remember CNN jumping on the "violent video games" bandwagon when the Beltway sniper thing was ongoing.
