Rage were always commies making music for their communist fans. It only seems inconsistent to us now because of what communism looks like in 2021 and how the world has changed.
The funny thing is everybody interprets art differently, so when people on the right connect with their music it's for a completely different reason than the band intended. If commie music gives you the strength to fight against communism then keep enjoying it, I say.
Pretty much...I liked their music, but I always thought their politics were dogshit. Rich rockstars telling us how great communism is while they make millions off one of the biggest corporate labels known to man (Sony)...oh, but they were tearing down the system from within? So why do they live in lavish mansions brought off the back of Capitalism? Fuck their politics! The only good thing about them is that their music was somewhat catchy.
