Goolag just hid the dislike count on the HTML side of youtube and the public api access is next, meaning only video creators can review downvotes.
Their claims of mental health are bullshit as this will only placate narcissists, and this only exists to allow questionable parties to hide bad reception of their videos.
Use Odysee. Tell people to use Odysee. Takes 5 minutes for a creator to set up an account and mirror their entire YT channel, no excuses.
Oh please yes.
I like bitchute but it has the same problem that a lot of alt-tech has in that it doesn't reach critical mass, people come in at a trickle, see the abundance of 💊'd content and get scared off.
Is there other platforms other than Odysee or Bitchute?
Not dissing any of them, but I want to evaluate my options before making the commitment.
Rumble has a fair bit of steam
This literally protects no one's mental health, because the people obsessed with their own dislike ration can still see dislikes.
This is such a transparent attempt to cover for those in power.
I like how youtube went ahead to take steps to implement this further.. despite most content makers never asked for this.
YT knows there are no competitors. Also... now would be a good time for foreign vid platforms to attract international users. Im sure japan or something has one.. what was it. Niconico?
I'm so fucking confused. I'm on Chrome of all things and I still see dislikes.
you get different javascript from youtube sometimes. they roll out updates gradually
I'll just enjoy it while it lasts I guess. It's weird, I feel like the dude that the devil forgot to reverse rapture. Like cool, I guess. But I feel left out at the same time.
I installed a chrome extension to see the dislikes.
On my side, its gone now. Just likes. Dislike has no number associated. Whatever, if the video creator can see it, it doesnt matter. Just a way to demotivate the proles. Doesnt matter, click the button anyway. They can still see how much they are hated.
And just like that YT will turn into Tumblr.
The reason why SJWism started out on Tumblr is exactly because of that, lack of negative feedback to inform both the content maker and consumers that said piece of content was low quality.
Just search brave dislike extension
