It's probably just stock photography that was part of the deal when proposing to Gamestop that whatever company would make socks cheaply if Gamestop signed the check.

Gamestop is extremely lazy when making their own marketing stuff because very few people pay attention to it in store. I've seen them make 2 foot wide signs from grainy 100x100 thumbnail screen caps just to sell pre-orders. They prefer to let the publishers provide their own marketing.
