Well the other Wolverine, Laura [X-23], is currently in the current X-Men lineup [that's now decided democratically in a group telepath sessions, btw], and she's got this romance tension with a character called Sync. Sync is for lack of a better description a poor man's Mimic, since Sync's power is to synchronize with someone and duplicate their power. Note Mimic could do this and do it up to 5 times. Sync can only do it 1 power at a time - although if a being exists that has combined powers, like the High Evolutionary's hybrid clone daughter who has both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's powers, then Sync can copy that hybrid.
Anyway...
A story some issues ago revisited the "Children of the Vault" which were mutants locked in a time dilation bubble that went a different path of mutant evolution. When they first arrived they acted big, fought the X-Men, and then got stomped. Back into the bubble they went and their central AI started poking to make them better since the Children are little more than cloned archetypes it seems so certain characters despite dying will return again in form.
The current mutant nation wanted to find out what was happening with the CotV and so sent in Laura, Sync, and Darwin [power to adapt to situations, technically the most resilient mutant in existence since he shouldn't ever not adapt which is why the First Class version of the character was fucking stupid. He literally should have gone "Ok" when the FC version of Shaw fed him an energy bomb while saying "Adapt to this..." That's how powerful Darwin is meant to be. Should have burped some energy residue and then splatted Shaw across the walls but I'm getting side tracked here]. These 3 were picked since Laura has combat and regen like the original Wolverine, Darwin has adaptations, and Sync was literally there as a backup for both in case it was needed. All 3 were picked because they knew inside the time bubble time would move very, very fast [we're talking decades if not centuries of time passing for these 3 in comparison to the rest of the Marvel universe] and their powers would help them not die of old age.
Anyway... again,
tl;dr spoilers for what ended up happening: CotV turned out to be scrubs on stage 2 of the previous CotV characters we saw, they got stomped again by the 3 investigating, the AI went "OHSHIT" and started stage 3, that still failed, they captured Darwin, replicated his abilities somewhat, made something beyond stage 4, all the while Laura and Sync hooked up. Once it became clear the CotV stage whatever was going to be a big threat [that only exists because they went in the bubble in the first place...] Laura and Sync tried to rescue Darwin. That failed, he died. They then tried to escape, Laura sacrificing herself so Sync could escape. Sync gets out the bubble and then gets ganked by the CotV chasing him but not before telepathically contacting Xavier who backs up his mind like a black box so they know what happened in the mission, albeit with only Sync remembering because the other 2 died inside the bubble.
So going back to the original point, the character first introduced in X-Men Evolution as the weaponized clone of Logan is having a "what if" relationship drama because the man she fell in love with still loves her, remembers he loves her, but she doesn't remember it happening due to plot drama reasons. She could learn about the relationship by having a telepath hook her up to Sync, but nah, too easy to sort the drama for what is meant to be one of the most dangerous melee characters in the X-Men lineups.
I'd complain more about how stupid these stories were if I wasn't reading them for free in the first place because, yarr.
Not that that stopped me complaining how fucking stupid DC comics are some months ago. Because they're even worse than Marvel at times. Mostly due to Bendis.
I thought they already made him bi.
"This comic book shifted so gradually to gay hardcore pornography I barely noticed!"
He was gay in an "else word" story from a few years back if I remember right.
Will it be Wolverine, or side character 22 who is being called Wolverine but has none of his swagger.
More important tl;dr the comics are stupid atm.

I need to do some yarring to catch back up.
Could be both.
Wasn't Wolverine killed off by being encased in liquid adamantium?
He got better.
