It’s a shame people like Coates and Kendi get more attention than Dr Sowell. I think Discrimination and Disparities should be required reading. A great lesson about how you can’t jump to the conclusion of racism just because someone has more than you.
Also remember in the 80s/90s some of the biggest celebrities were black (Michael Jordan for instance) and shows like Fresh Prince, Cosby Show, and Family Matters were popular across the board. Now I generally don’t watch any modern day show and if I see a mostly black cast it’s a good bet it will be about racism.
It really makes me sad what has happened but we can make a difference in our lives. Like you I am a firm believer in judging by character. I know that makes us white supremacists by today’s standard but it’s the only way forward.
