Yea Chappelle will spout the usual talking points and I would’ve been impressed if he had called out the hero worship of Floyd. His show was good and i always thought that was a dumb reason to quit the show
Plus, Chappelle is the most untouchable, cancel-proof man in show biz. He is tight with all of the most corrupt politicians in the country. If there is anybody who can get away with saying absolutely anything, it is him - everything he says will be taken as a hilarious joke by 99.99% of people. Kinda makes him look a lot less "brave", imo.
turned it on for 5 mins during lunch today. 5 mins in and its all non-stop applause, the only "joke" was he must have killed thousands of people in texas cuz before he got covid he was out touching doorknobs and giving cash tips.
i was waiting for the jokes, its was just non-stop applause.
i guess its trailer-effect, the best moments were clipped and put on the internet
I’ve seen him live and there’s a lot of quiet time. He’s very funny but also very very preachy, it’s not just jokes for laughs. There are long periods of total silence it’s not knee slapping hilarity.
It would not surprise me to learn Netflix pipes in laugh tracks. They give everyone a “special” and some absolutely terrible acts are getting wild applause on awful performances. In reality, those audiences are quiet, groaning, or heckling.
It’s so manufactured that a number of big comedians are now making fun of it. Even Theo Von said on jockos podcast his Netflix “special” had a grand total of 9 people in the audience. Nobody showed up. I haven’t gone to watch his performance but I guarantee since Netflix paid to produce it, they made it sound and look like a rip roarin laugh fest packed to the gates.
This whole controversy is reminding me of the one surrounding The Silence of the Lambs. Both the book and movie wring their hands saying that Buffalo Bill isn't a real transsexual because transsexuals aren't violent and they would never hurt another human being. Which is not only complete bullshit, since there's nothing about their condition that excludes criminal, violent, and murderous behavior, but it didn't work; the trannies at the time still attacked the story for being transphobic. There is no winning with these people; they are narcissistic, in love with their victim complex, and will not accept the fact that their shit does in fact stink.
last year's special where he made Floyd into some saint didn't tip you off?

By every quantifiable measure, quality of life for blacks has gone down since the 1950s when they were "oppressed."

I do feel that a lot of this is stirred up on purpose. Best we can do is ignore it.
We tried that “when it was just in colleges”. These narratives won’t stop until we force reality back on these faggots.
Trannies need to go back into the closet.
True. I was guilty of thinking it was just craziness in colleges.
it has to be advertising-drama.
