The best you can hope for is to present your arguments so that when people are ready for them at some point in the future (presumably after they've experienced something in their life that makes them ready to listen) you can present them in a way where they will listen.

I heard and read many things I wasn't ready to accept until last year, and it would have been impossible for me to accept them had last year not happened. And it was impossible for me to not accept them having experienced last year.
