How does KIA2 like to level in 7 Days to Die?
posted 4 years ago by yeldarb1983 4 years ago by yeldarb1983 +20 / -0

Do you prefer to focus on specific skills, or do you try to fill out primary traits first?

Maybe you do something else?

Would you say any particular skills are important early on in your experience?

Weird question. Do people normally make an effort to level in that game? I just run around until I find a cool place to build a stronghold, then I go at it. Usually get tired of it after 3 (in-game) weeks and start looking for a city to conquer.

I generally don't even care about the level up perks that much. I refuse to eat/drink because hunger/thirst is a garbage mechanic, so I get all the perks to minimize deaths caused by my playstyle, followed by the stamina regen perk so I can create caverns without taking a break - after that, I just put in random stuff. Fighting directly is for chumps, you drop a spike and juke out that zombie or eat shit.

Dunno, I play by myself mostly. My internet can't handle playing on a server that isnt in my own house, lol

I typically play solo as well. I've got the ps4 version, so I can play local co-op, but the devs bungled it up pretty well so none of the bugs are ever getting patched, nor are any content upgrades coming to me.

Wish it were better known, I'd like to see a more reliable dev pursue such an upgrade of minecraft.

lol, I bought the steam two-pack for my fiance and me when it was one sale, but he's not really into these games as much as I am, so we only rarely play

Meanwhile, I've got a twenty-by-twenty(fourty-by-fourty?) cobblestone castle ringed by a million wooden spike traps and a separate mine/workshop sunk under a building with crosses built into the facade that face in the cardinal directions off to one side, lmao.

Oddly specific Q, but I'm a specific skill leveler. Primary traits are only ever leveled when it's a roadblock to further leveling a skill I want.

Oddly specific Q,

Someone lamented the lack of gaming content in the sub-community, and I happened to be playing at the time, and it's something I've been thinking about as I played my longest game to date without restarting (Day 71 currently).

but I'm a specific skill leveler.

What skills to you like to focus on first? = )

Well I've only put the hours in on one single player game, so haven't really optimised my choices. That first game I started with the lucky looter, lock picking and the crafting skill until I got the guaranteed workbench blueprint, then spears and agility for bows and stealth and back for rifles later.

In retrospect I would probably start with clubs, packmule and miner 69er on singleplayer now, just to farm up exp faster and cut down on the early grind. Would skip intellect skills until much later and get bows and stealth sooner for simpler animal hunting and POI clearing.

clubs

Spears get a bit more range and have slightly better knockback, although the stamina hit is pretty rough...

Iron gut helps out early on as well, makes food and water go down slower.

Sidenote, do you know if having multiple add-ons for crafting stations (beakers, grills, and cooking pots for campires; anvils, crucibles, and bellows for forges; etc.) makes any difference over only having one of each?

I'm a slut for Intelligence and Turrets, especially because the tree unlocks most of the advanced building and crafting as well.

When playing with friends I force myself to do a different tree and let them build or else I'll trivialize the whole blood moon thing and ruin the game for everyone really.
