Modern news media/journalism is the enemy of all people.
It's a message that I wish more people spread throughout public consciousness.
If people disconnected from the hysteria, these networks/outlets would be forced to either return to trying to factually report, or go extinct. We don't need them; they're obsolete. They need us.
No they don't. None of these leftist media outlets make any real money. They are owned by billionaires who stopped valuing money long ago. These weirdos value influence and control, and they pay well for both. That's why the news media hasn't course corrected despite cratering viewership. They are no longer connected to the free market.
This. A slew of hedge funds and venture capital are pouring money into these organizations. Literally hundreds of millions of dollars to keep them afloat.
That money is very likely coming from shuffled around tax dollars and grants.
Yes and no.
If no one is tuning in, then they're not worth pouring the money into to begin with.
We know this to be the case because there was a time before YouTube went full corporate, that people were disconnecting from cable in mass numbers. When they happened, nearly all of these places were on the brink of extinction, and that wasn't a secret either.
It was only when YouTube turned their back on creators for corporate interests that they were able to claw their way back and become somewhat relevant again. They also did so through using the preferred tactic at the time — one that they haven't stopped using since — which was: clickbait/ragebait.
In the end, though, they still only have as much power as people give them. If everyone disconnected or began using alternatives, even the people funding them would eventually abandon them, since no one wants to throw millions at a wall for nothing.
If no one is tuning in, then they're not worth pouring the money into to begin with.
No, that's what they want you to think. They will continue to keep producing money-sinks so long as it furthers their agenda.
They literally do not care about money, it's about the message for them. They will continue to lose money to push the message, no matter what it costs.
It was only when YouTube turned their back on creators for corporate interests that they were able to claw their way back and become somewhat relevant again.
Except YouTube literally became an extension of the EXACT corporate entities that people tried getting away from. Now it's the majority of what's pushed in recommended feeds, even while people downvote and leave negativity comments on the corporate-entrenched propaganda.
And when people REALLY push back, YouTube and the corporate cronies simply turn off the comments and hide the like/dislike ratio. Showing that they literally DO NOT care what the people think, nor do they care about actually giving people what they want for the sake of making profit.

This is such 2015 logic it hurts.
This is not true. Everyone could tune out of YouTube tomorrow and do you know what would happen? They would simply buy up whatever or wherever everyone else went to.
A bunch of people using BitChute? They buy them out.
A bunch of people using Dlive? They poison the well with negative media stories.
A bunch of people using services that won't sell out like StreamIt or BannedVideos? They blacklist them, cull them from payment processors, or harass them out of the business.
They don't care about your patronage, it's not about that. They will keep pouring billions into these sinking ships to FORCE people to accept their propaganda.
It's not even about THIS generation it's about the next generation. The next generation will be inundated from birth to adulthood with nonstop Left-wing, CCP-funded propaganda. Unless their parents are vigilant in teaching them how to sift through the nonsense, they will only know the propaganda they've been fed. That's the whole point. There's a long game to this and a lot of people just aren't seeing it.
I'm sorry, dude, but much of your rant is pure speculation and opinion — nothing more. There's workarounds for everything, and we're seeing that clearly as the steps you've described that they've taken have been worked around — Gab and Parler for instance. Your view is a very doomer/blackpilled/there-is-no-hope-they-win point of view and I simply don't subscribe to it.
Regardless of what your opinion on it is, there is a bottom-line for them, because many of them are publicly traded companies and will answer to shareholders. Plain and simple.
Shareholders drive their direction for more than anything. One of the reason Google cooperates with the CCP is specifically because it allows the company to potentially gain access to a market with a huge population that they desperately wish to exploit.
If you think insulting people makes your point any more valid, you're sadly mistaken, sorry. Stop being so myopic and close-minded, thinking that you're the only person who's figured it all out. People are allowed to disagree with your opinion. It doesn't make you wrong, nor does it make them right.
I stand by my position.
If anything, I feel that our Government has done a shit job at regulating many of these tech companies in the same way that was done with regards to oil/railraod during the industrial revolution. But that's a different topic altogether.

They have a unified message to push, regardless of the costs. YouTube is literally losing tens of BILLIONS of dollars after going corporate, yet they keep going forward: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/30/youtube-algorithm-changes-negatively-impact-google-ad-revenue.html
