Nice demonstration of how monarchy is less bad than democracy. Putin knows he is benefiting from ruling Russia, and is responsible to both himself and his country not to completely fuck it over. Meanwhile, in the western democracies, all the politicians are just trying to get their connections together to land those nice cushy post-politician jobs like lobbyist, guest speaker, and silent board member.
I remember when I first heard about Hoppe's arguments in Democracy: the God That Failed, and I thought they were obviously dumb. Damn, I was stupid.
I've said it elsewhere, but it's possible to have more freedom under the right kind of autocrat, than under "free" democracies. Big European states, try and micro manage nearly every element of peoples lives, and because it's done legally it's still considered be within the confines of freedom even though there's nothing free about it. It's forced on you and you've little say in the matter.
Most people admit that the best form of government would be a benevolent dictatorship. That doesn't mean there aren't all sorts of problems with dictatorships which make them extremely undesirable.
Putin is not a monarch. He barely even acknowledges that he even has children. If you want to call him a dictator then fine, but get out of here with this bullshit about monarchy. I'll never get people's obsession for simping for a political system that invariably leads to inbred retards like King Tut and Prince Harry.

Anyone who's still a Conservative at this point is simply an idiot.

Monarchy doesn't necessitate hereditary monarchy. Inbreeding is a serious issue, though.
