the chain of command, and "respecting authority" is, and has always been, a big thing in the military

Didn't seem to be such a big thing when Trump was in office with Mark Milley's shenanigans among others.

Especially to enforce this on retired personnel.

Here's a list of retired generals that criticized Trump.
