Most cloud services — Dropbox, Google, and Microsoft to name a few — already scan user files for content that might violate their terms of service or be potentially illegal, like CSAM.

That's disturbing.

Basically, if you have ever accessed anything the far left doesn't like, that was hosted on a google drive, then don't be surprised if at some point in the next 20 years you're forced to confess your sin in a struggle session.

Yeah that's one of the reasons I deleted my Google accounts.

"Cloud Storage" is marketing speak for "Giving your data to someone else".

'The cloud is just someone else's computer'

Not just scan but they delete things they deem wrongthink or "illegal" as well. People who had footage of the Christchurch incident stored in Google Drive had those files removed with no prior notice or notification after the fact.

Speaking of which, how do you find that video now? It's been scrubbed hard off the internet

I know a few places. I think linking to it would be against the rules. Does .win have a DM function yet?

It's disturbing on so many levels.

Like is this such a big problem that they have to run roughshod over everyone's digital rights? How many of those people can there possibly be out there?

Or is it a case of the upper echelons in these industries being so obsessed with this shit because it's all they think about that they feel the need to harvest it for their own personal gain. Like maybe they're collecting it or seeking out their fellow travelers and fellow perverts for recruitment/blackmail/actual prosecution.

Or maybe it's just a slippery slope where they get their foot in the door with "well you aren't with one of those people are ya buddy? otherwise why not let us do what we want and no one gets hurt. nothing to hide nothing to worry about etc" Then it's like others have mentioned. If you made a meme about vaccinations or you poked fun at Biden you just made their shit list. They just go after whatever they want and whomever they want for whatever reason they want.

You would think that there would be no child abusers left out there for all the privacy intrusions, back doors, and illegal domestic surveillance going on. They seem to have no problem finding anyone involved with Jan 6th.

I think they want it for two reasons: they want the functionality for their own purposes to use at a later date and to maintain their position of power by implementing this feature and then requiring anyone who provides a similar service do the same.
