So, that new Gawain film where Britons are Indians. Apparently it's shit overall (a review from an Arthurian group with others ther saying similar things). Among normies at Rotten Tomatoes it has 90% fresh by pro critics (was even 100% at first) but only 54% by audience, in a typical woke cinema gap (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

I actually really liked a trailer and had big hopes even despite the cast choices (with it's wild use of colors and shadows it wasn't so jarring as it would be otherwise), but alas it seems it's just shit.

When the Guy Ritchie movie hit cinemas (and promptly bombed) few years ago I went to see it super excited without knowing anything about it, got Chinx and blax with names like "Goosefat Bill". Here apparently they don't even have names at all which I guess means The Progress continues.

The trailer that I liked: https://youtube.com/watch?v=sS6ksY8xWCY (I really did, I watched it many times).

The talking fox sidekick is actually a character from an obscure (I think Dutch) Gawain story. I thought it was cool.

Ehh.

Instead of seeing this woke garbage (i saw half the trailer and immediately doubted the good reviews) - went and saw Stillwater instead.

It isn't perfect, but I did enjoy it. Had some actual, honest-to-god portrayals of the migrant crisis in the EU, and the hypocrisy of the liberals that support it.

Looks like I made the right choice.

Messing up a classic should count as a crime against humanity.

If you want indians in an epic movie do a proper adaptation of mahabharata, would be metal as fuck, but right, it's about ruining white cultural history.

I can't imagine being the sort of person that is still consuming western media.

Like, actually paying, to a see a movie that was made in the west, today? How? How are people still doing this? It boggles my mind that people even consider watching anything new and western-produced.

When I then talked with her she ended up angrily calling me a meanie racist for how I said I'd be 100% okay with Indian actors if they just transplanted the plot entirely to be set in India and having everyone Indian (like how The Emperor's New Groove was moved to the Inca in a Disney adaptation). So I guess this type?

Which would be The Green... Zamindar, apparently (https://www.quora.com/Did-ancient-India-have-any-equivalent-to-medieval-knights).

On the other hand it would be also pretty pointless, because Indians not only have their own very rich mythologies but they also have a HUGE film industry of their own. Making I believe more movies than all European peoples.
