FYI: Exporting the crude oil does not mean you have the technology or the knowhow to convert them to actual usable fuel to be used on the plants to generate energy. That is why many oil producing countries, who doesn't even have the personnel with knowledge to refine it, exports their oil and import the refined product.
I thought Saif al-Islam had always been one of the survivors of the war, and it was a bunch of his younger siblings who died. IIRC it was Mutassim, Gaddafi's fourth son, who got his throat slit by the rebels after the same battle that their father was killed in; and another Saif, Saif al-Arab, who died in a NATO airstrike. (Perhaps that's where any confusion over which Saif perished might have arisen)
Anyway, I find it very difficult to imagine this Saif, or anyone else, doing worse than the warlords who have torn Libya to shreds over the past decade if he should be elected at this year's end. Even an empty box would do less harm going forward.
With a dictator, a few people might dissapear from time to time as long as he or she feels in control. But with a sham of a revolution, many die and are displaced.
I asked about the Green Book, the Mao-style pamphlet that Qaddafi forced on Libyans from childhood on, with its weird mash-up of quasi-socialist theories and banalities (“women are females and men are males”). Wasn’t some of that a bit crazy?
“It was not crazy,” Seif said. “It talked about things everybody is now recognizing” All kinds of ideas that have grown popular in the West — public referendums, employee stock-ownership plans, the dangers of boxing and wrestling — had their origins in the wisdom of the Green Book, Seif said.
So you saying that its bad if country stops being your countrys slaves?
Also ofc, never forget that A.H would never have gotten movement into high seat had 1) Bolseviks of USSR not been assimilating eastern Europe with war engine of theirs, thusly Nazi party having private army was big thing for voters, and 2) had markets not crashes so spectacularly in 1930,Nazi party would not have had any support within country to begin with

US would've bombed that infrastructure if they had it.
This is the kind of thing tales are written of.

hillary's greatest achievement
Hits bad, man.
That is how Saif al-Islam dresses now?
Anything would be better off for Libya than the democratic farce that currently exists in the now failed state. If it's Qaddafi's son so be it.
