Although you don't want to ever age boxed wine, it is actually a very good system to avoid oxidation vs an opened bottle of wine. So, a better system for having, say, a glass with dinner each night without having to worry about killing an entire bottle to avoid the risk of the wine turning.

There are still tons of shit and cheap boxed wines, of course, but there are also some pretty solid offerings available, too.
