I like that picture.
Thanks - me too!
Mine an heroed himself on Thanksgiving a few years ago, but the sentiment is appreciated.
Can't imagine how much that must suck... especially today. Having a cold one for you, cheers mate
I’m sorry to hear that.
Hope you start you’re own family so you can still celebrate the day.
My dad died earlier this year, after getting 6 months to live 4 years ago. In his own words he was too hateful to die, so the devil wanted to kill everyone he loved first (and did, minus myself and his sister).
Died in his mid 50s, never married, spending every day not working partying and spending his infinite oil field money on cocaine and bar sluts, and generally living as a "hustla" (in his words). And lots of hoodrat violence, because he lived in a town that is 40+% black and he was one of the blackest white guys alive.
Truly he was an inspiration for one style of life. I don't know why I'm sharing all this, but its a little weight off to do so.
Thanks for sharing. Good news is it already seems you are not destined to fall in his footsteps. What was his dad (your grandfather) like?
Barely know him. He spends most of his time in the Phillipines on the oil fields he owns. No bad blood or a falling out, just he was always living too far away to really meet. Nice enough guy from what I knew, offered me a job working under him out there but I'm not big on nepotism even if it would have made me as rich as him and my cousin are.
That's a great pic.
Thanks!
Awwww! That's so cute and wholesome!
Beautiful picture.
Happy Father's Day!
Thanks!
Right now my family life is rough. My whole immediate family is brainwashed to an insane degree. My sister praising CRT, my dad being hauled inconsistent with COVID (he wants to fire everyone at his job who doesn’t want to be vaccinated for “incompetence” but took several golf trips at the peak of the panic), and my whole family was gleefully talking about harassing my uncle who hasn’t taken it yet and taking his 10 year old to a vaccine appointment without his permission (only 12+ year olds are cleared for the vaccine anyways). I’m trying now to be thankful to him for raising me to do well in school but every conversation gets me a little more cynical about ever talking to my family after I finally finish school.
Sorry to hear that. We can choose are friends, not our family.
Try listening to Jesse Lee Peterson. He talks a lot about ending relationships with toxic family members.
Don't give up on them, family is important and unlike the left we should value it.
