[Juneteenth Special] It's a pretty well know fact that the freed slaves from America enslaved the Africans in the hilariously misnamed Liberia. But what I just learnt is that these coastal natives have been slave traders, exporting slaves takeb from further inland (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

Academic Agent: Economic Policies that ruined Liberia

One of the saddest things about Liberia is that the Americo-Liberian Settlers took their Slavocracy and Racialism from America to Liberia. The native Liberians embraced Racialism with Tribalism and eventually Socialism in response.

Liberia is the place with possibly the highest concentration of bad ideas on Earth, and it shows.

You can't call Liberia a failed state, but looking at how terrible each government has been with every iteration, you almost wish that it was a failed state so that it could have a chance at development.

Liberia is like its father in that regard.

France brewed the poison and America quaffed it.

All those American philosophical texts that the French were reading in 1790.

How many ISIS fighters has he had executed for their act of high treason? I'll believe that Macron's trying to keep his head out of the guillotine, but I won't believe he's our guy until he crosses the Rubicon.

There is no such law in France.

I'll believe that Macron's trying to keep his head out of the guillotine, but I won't believe he's our guy until he crosses the Rubicon.

If he does cross the Rubicon, by which I assume you mean make himself dictator, it probably will not be for your cause. The point is not that he is a good guy, but that even a guy firmly on the globalist side is doing this sort of thing.

No, I mean committing himself to a course which does not allow him to backslide. You still say he's firmly on the globalist side; I don't agree that he's pushing back if he's still pushing forwards, but in a manner less likely to blow up in his face.

Agreed. It's not like there couldn't be a coup in France.

They had a failed on in 1961, and it wasn't the first.

At least it was our poor people who had a choice between their cousin and a gentile looking alligator; and not the entire aristocracy to the Hapsburgs.

Comment Reported for: Rule 16 - 16: Identity attacks

Comment Approved: This is clearly a joke, do you want me to start policing jokes like this?

This is, no doubt, the fault of white people.

That's what they actually claim in most discussions. That they merely copied what they knew from America and, having zero agency of their own like all minorities, had no choice but to be exactly as evil as the whites who raised them!

He is a smart man who knows way more than me about most things, but I fundamentally disagree that they get anything more a small amount of blame back on whitey for that.

They were far more educated than anyone else in Africa, with far more non-Imperial/Colonization foreign support. They absolutely should have at least been better than those around them, yet they were somehow worse.

I have found my Liberia Campaigns in Hearts Of Iron 4 to be fairly difficult to mount logistically.

Not gonna lie. Investing in armored cars helped.
