That probably wasn't even the quote. Nobody actually quotes anyone. It was probably more like:

Hey, now. Listen. You guys are bright. Like, really bright, brightest in the room. You gotta turn down the light to be so bright, like on the cameras. It's good to be bright, but not too bright, ya know? 'Cause there's a lot of people that think they're bright and... (pause)... It's important for you young people to not be to be bright [sic], for America. As a shining light... anyways (walks off)

They are conditioned to be like this. Many people are. It's a result of the promotion of narcissism and sociopathy in the top levels of the Social Justice Racket.
