as they recently replied to that thread, I suggest we go in there and tell the devs that the people who bitch about black enemies are just deranged extremists who should not only be ignored, but permabanned on sight as said spergs will do nothing but spam them with defamatory bullshit.

If a company switches gears and adjusts their game to cater to me, I'd be highly confused, but willing to give a look, but a game not made from scratch to cater to me still stinks of subterfuge and so it would be a very cautious look.

A game that is adjusted AWAY from me, though... Why would I ever give it any looks at all, except looks of derision?

Making video games is, ironically, not like playing video games. Once you "conquer" a level, an audience-base, you do not keep it forever. You don't keep it at all. It is entirely temporary. You have not, and never will, "secure" an audience base that you can then abandon catering to in order to add other ones.

Women are the majority of bejeweled-tier casual game players. Adding in male-target-audience incentives to your bejeweled game will not retain your female audience base: Hunie-Pop's customer base is predominantly men, despite the genre generally being for women.

If you move away from your product's target audience, you WILL lose that audience. You better be 100% certain your new audience is willing to throw money around. It worked great for Hunie-Pop deciding to cater to late-teen men, not so much for most companies deciding to cater to Wokeness, though.
