No one should buy into the absolute lie that there's "more money to be made catering to a demographic that makes up in total less than 4% of the population." That makes no sense.
According to the CDC, gays and lesbians are only 1.6% of the population, with the rest of the alphabet soup filling out the other 2.4%. In no sane world would you abandon the majority of the consumer demographic to cater to an absolute minuscule minority of degenerates.
And you're absolutely right, if you look at the finances for most of the companies going all in on the Rainbow Reich's degenerate propaganda, they're making far less money now than they did before. Marvel, DC, Hollywood and nearly every big AAA gaming studio focusing on that nonsense are prime examples of that.
Not to go full Impossible1 here, but they are effectively catering to middle-class white women.
That specific demographic has a huge amount of spending power as consumers, and many are ideologically possessed by Leftist protection rackets / syndicates.
It doesn't matter that they don't do anything for the allegedly oppressed group, because none of the middle and upper-middle class white women do anything either. They just want everyone to agree that they are good people.

Women are always the weakest link. This is not because they are bad people. Quite the opposite, in fact. The caring and empathetic nature of women, while a beautiful thing, can be used to bring them to ruin.
