“I am a very lapsed catholic but if you believe in transubstantiation, then you’re going somewhere along the line of ‘I became the character,’ No, you didn’t, you’re not supposed to become the f***ing character because you’re supposed to be open to stuff that happens in real life because someone at some stage is going to say “Cut” and there’s no point going, ‘What does ‘cut’ mean because I’m Napoleon?’ Shut up,” the actor exclaimed.
Uh, that is a pretty reasonable take.
Both parties are assholes who cares if they fight.
Carrey is weird and the movie predates the Y2K apocalypse that killed us all. This is the definition of "nothing new". I suppose it's OK as an attempt to avoid talking about current events...?
I don’t give half a fuck about Jim Carrey but I’ve always hated Martin Freeman. That “oh I’m the cute, silly, awkward everyman who’s also the only sane voice in a group of more interesting characters” shit got old back in Office, and he’s played the exact same character in everything since. I have no idea how this boring fuck managed to skyrocket into superstardom.
I did not read the article, and I despise Jim Carrey anymore, but Martin Freeman is a caustic ass and Carrey did a fantastic job transforming into Kaufman.
I loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy of films(and of course the books long before 3x over) but the Hobbit movie sucked ass and Freeman was 30% of why.
The guy who flipped off the camera in every behind the scenes shot in full Hobbit costume is calling out narcissism and amateurish shit?
I don't like Carrey either but I tolerate his older stuff because he really did want to break out of the goofy Ace Ventura image and into serious roles, and worked his ass off to get into and pull them off. Andy Kaufman WAS narcissistic and had some serious issues with maturity on and off the set but Carrey did well portraying that.
Dudes just jealous cause he's a shit actor and needed something to get offended by so he picked a 20 something year old movie
LOL, that is so odd. A movie that old. Did Carrey give Freeman's girlfriend an STD or two as well?
Uh, that is a pretty reasonable take.

Despite the possibility that he's been dead since 1984, Kaufman is still funnier and more famous than either Carrey or Freeman.

Jim Halpert > Tim Canterbury
Nice summary of how he comes across.
He's allowed his opinion, I don't see why this is even a thread.
Good point-
Wtf is this doing here exactly?
