Monster Hunter Rise did the same thing which is immensely disappointing for me with MH being one of my favorite series of all time. There is and always has been different designs for male/female armor as well so I don't know what the fucking point is.

I hate online communities because they hit that center of the brain that provides satisfaction for doing something, without actually doing anything.
Even local townhalls require the act of attending them in meatspace, and people are a less likely to pull BS if directly confronted by angry people.
