Especially in a society plagued by so called young vegetarian men who are voluntarily removed from the dating scene. If there's no 20-30 year old men seeking these women, then even the "above average" could just be any man with money that isn't particularly unattractive. It's a much worse version of a pick up artist stringing along a woman at the end of her fertile years here, but at the same time, I can't begrudge a guy abusing the corrupt system so that it works for him. We all have to deal with our society's pathologies.
That's true. I only said worse because I'm framing it in my head from the perspective of our societal health, but absolutely, it's much better for the guy involved. I think at the end of these social norms everyone playing the dating marketplace game will be a loser, man or woman. Hopefully we can see a pendulum swing by then, but the internet seems to be throwing a wrench into the usual societal/political progression of these movements.
