Don't be surprised if an appeal gets made and Chauvin's attorney is literally told that by the judge who arrests him for Contempt of Court by filing the appeal in the first place.
Won't be contempt. As stated above, he is guaranteed a appeal at this point. More likely that they just give it a skim and rubber stamp it rather than do the right thing. Hopefully it is not the case, but I think they want him to be their scapegoat and he is going to be screwed.
Who's going to grant an appeal? The judge who denied the defense's motion for a mistrial? Who denied the motion to sequester? Who said he trusts the media? Who trusts the jury they wouldn't watch any news? Right.
None of this will stick on appeal.
