"Fediverse" as in federated web servers operating under a shared protocol for communicating with one another.
Federated as in "multiple groups formed into a unit" instead of one group that controls everything.

Fediverse is an open source project that's the backbone of Mastodon and Gab is a fork of Mastodon.
Anyone can make their own site. Whether the site glows or not is up to the site admin.
Fediverse is totally run by leftists, but so is Linux and Windows.
.win uses Cloudflare and javascript, so it's obviously glowing.
