Hell, there's a reason alot of Chinese workers were used to build the railways in the US, mine gold in Aus or work on ships and the docks in Britain, it's not only because they worked hard under under alot of pressure at the time, they also adopted to the culture quite quickly. Learned English so they could communicate with their bosses, bring their families over because it was a safe land with lots of work needed to be done, build a community along race lines so you still have that culture in this new country. Every race does this in a western country but Asians are the best at it over Africans and Arabs I'd say.
The huge difference is that every criminal family except blacks and most hispanics police industry.
Meaning if you went to Chinatown 60-70 years ago and fucked around with business the gangs would slit your throatt and dump your corpse in a river.
It's not that there was no crime. There was tons of it, but they did crime WELL. Industry grew, families stayed together and built generational wealth, and then pushed their children to build on their hard work and success and to keep the wealth within the community.
Same thing the Italians did. Drugs, whores, protections rackets, but you ain't makin money if nobody has money to spend.
A coworker of mine was recently trying to crib the answers for the company's fleet driving test and I'm like "this is why I always drive when we use a pool car".
There's a reason for that. Most Chinese who immigrate here come from wealth and had personal drivers and either had to flee because the CCP needed a scapegoat for another one of their fuck ups or left because they saw the US as a better oppertunity. Plus driving in most Asian countries, where most people live in cities, is not the norm or in the case of SE Asia they can't afford a car so they drive scooters so they tend to cause more accidents due to inexperience. Driving in Thailand, Nam, India and cities outside of Beijing are an absolute nightmare in my experience, less traffic laws and people do whatever they fuck they want in most cases as long as they're going the right direction. Especially those people on scooters, they give zero fucks and will do insane things just because they can fit in a space.
I've never in my life heard Asians described as stupid. On the contrary, they are considered to be smart, competent and hardworking.
