The ".win" community is expanding to be a reddit replacement: communities.win
And there's new sub communities to check out.
communities.win/c/gaming seems especially relevant to us.
If we want a reddit replacement to take off we're gonna need to participate and make it into what we wish reddit was.
edit:
c/gaming
Does linking like this work?
Oh cool, it does!

Crap, I just noticed i mispelled the address in the title.
It should be "communities.win".
I'm curious how any entertainment sub would work here, considering we should be boycotting the majority of these industries.
I had an argument in response to this, but then I read a few threads over there. Even 4chan/v will be more useful than the current state of that sub. I just wanted to read about new games.
I'm still curious what it was.
People are just upvote farming while it's new.
That's a fair evaluation. I'll try them again in a month or two.
But as far as ideal "how would it work," just having a more organic version of Reddit is a start. No (or minimal) shilling, no tyrant mods removing stuff they shouldn't, no brigading. The content would only need to be people talking about new things they tried or upcoming things they want to talk about. That'd be good enough for me.
I get your point about the boycotting, but if I don't keep an ear to the ground, I'll miss any indie creator trying to bring new life to the wasteland. Yet, there's too much junk being produced for me to possibly parse it all through inefficient formats like youtube or journalists/reviewers.
Go to 8/v.
There's a lot more talk of things there with respect to that which would get shit on here. Mainstream stuff, Sony, etc. I'm not the model citizen of boycotting things considering I still have a PS4, and have no idea why I'm supposed to hate the Epic Games Store, that I've never used, more than I hate Kamala Harris. A lot of total garbage too and upvote farming for these magic fake internet points.
I'm trying to participate a bit because I would like to see it become a fun gaming community, but only time will tell.
The issue with Epic is that their defenders are always on the other extreme of Steam simps, where they apologize for everything or don't acknowledge the criticisms of the company / technology.
As long as you contextualize any topic here, IMO you can post basically anything (excluding sexual fetishes and the like). You might be downvoted on any WIN site for criticizing the platform or Trump, but that's not too surprising.
As for boycotting, IMO you should do it selectively or based on personal principles. You don't have to boycott everything and with your example, why shoot yourself in the foot? I'd just suggest buying retail for cheap if possible.
It's just a little rich to see so many considering buying or have purchased PS5 when you know at least a few of them were livid about the "mostly peaceful protests", where Sony was especially egregious in their attitude.
Personally, I don't like The Donaldisms terms (pedes, frens) nor their sidebar rules, but I'm monitoring it for seldom conversation. Far too vanilla for me overall.
The hate for Epic seems odd. I mean I get China being bad, but looking at the US and where it's going, it just seems like a different flavor of bad. As for Steam being better, it is, but it's also bloated. I also expect Steam to go full woke one day, like all corporations are going. Gabe is a white male after all, they will get him one way or another.
