Communities like gaming, sports, etc. have been officially released:

I'll keep an eye on them, but I prefer smaller communities like this and even Half-KIA. On that note: what are you playing right now?
Yeah I was hyped for Doom Eternal and tried it last month and didn't really like it. Starting playing Doom 2016 again right after to see if I just changed tastes and ended up replaying most of it. Eternal just isn't the same.
What didn’t you guys like about it? I though it was even better than 2016, way faster, more reflex based. 2016 was great but it was still a pretty standard progression based FPS, albeit a great example of one, but I though Eternal really elevated things.
It didn't have the same crunch as 2016. The ammo situation combined with everything having specific weaknesses to eighteen kinds of alternate fire...there was just too much going on. The beauty of of Doom 2016 was that I could sit down and relax with it as I plowed through the hordes of Hell while embodying the defiant attitude that Doom Guy displayed onscreen. Also the lore was still in the background and spilled its spaghetti.
I can kind of get that, some people just want to sit back with an infinite ammo SSG and kill everything in front of them for a few hours.
I'd probably say the platforming. Not even the little platforming sections between arenas, I hated those but I can exempt them. The arena design being based around platforming.
I'll probably play it some more and see if that opinion sticks, but it just didn't feel the same to me. Maybe I just like standard progression based FPS. Well, I know I do because I've probably played almost all of them.
Yeah, as much as I love Doom 2016 I think it really benefited from the fact that most AAA story-driven FPS at the time were just total dogshit and it was a real breath of fresh air.
