This guy really should have smashed the inspector's vehicle windows and looted it, maybe set the thing on fire too...you know just to be super peaceful about it.
This is what people need to be shown when they say, "your guns are useless against the US military!"
The military isn't the threat. The pencil pushing authoritarians are. The guy coming down to your house or your business to force compliance from you is the threat. That guy might have a gun, and he might even have some security, but if there's a reasonable chance that a large number of the people he tries to boss around greet him with a gun and the resolve to use it, well ... I just don't see how Mr. Pencil Pusher is going is going to be very enthusiastic to go impose his will on uncooperative citizens.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”
Nuremburg set the ethical precedent that just following orders was not to be considered a moral excuse, regardless of the possible consequences to those following orders.
We then set about completely ignoring our own moral judgement, giving the lie to the facade of righteous fury and showing the calculated politics under it all.
There's a little known law in this province that basically says "but I was told to or I'd be fired" isn't an excuse; it has to do with being ordered to work at an unsafe site/in an unsafe situation. Thing is, you're expected to have the tickets that enable you to tell if a workplace is unsafe, and if you see that it's unsafe and do the work you're ordered to do anyway, and you get hurt, YOU can go to jail. Yep, for not saying "hell no, go fuck yerself, boss."
Yeah, the expectation is that you will see that a workplace is unsafe and go secure the documentation proving that it is unsafe. That could be as little as a photo or it could be as much as the signed document from the OSHA dude that is meant to review site safety. Either way, the employee is a bit boned.
We need more of this.
The left has shown us the way. Intimidation and violence work.

You see how eco terrorists damaged the Aspen gas system?
I was wondering for years when soft infrastructure attacks would begin.
Always have.

Aleksander Solzhenitsyn
The state is still allowed to use the "just following orders" excuse eh?
We live in full blown anarcho-tyranny.

This place is only 30 mins away from my place. I should go have lunch there more often.
