I mean, do they want the entertainment industry to be hated and to be destroyed fully and utterly? People will merely resort to torrenting and such. This will make the consumer LESS inclined to pay/watch anything.
At this point you're going to have a hot potato in your hands. They are making bread hard to come by, and circuses not fun (or unaffordable). And we know all too well what happens when big crowds with no food or entertainment come in, they become...Gamers.
If, like, your objective is for people to lose all respect for the legitimacy and power of the state as a prelude to the collapse of the union, then this is good news everyone.
The problem is too many people expect it to be a glorious revolution (think Tzars) and not a shit sorta just falls apart one (think Ottomans).
Individual states have been telling the federal government to piss off for over a decade now. Blue states over immigration policing and drugs, red states over land use policy and more recently quarantine (with threats of not cooperating over guns; there are right now probably a half dozen counties in the country where the ATF is not welcome). You'll just see more and more of this as the red states decide to stop cooperating with the central government entirely.
The last straw will be over taxation, when states refuse to permit enforcement of federal income tax. But by the time things get that far, the federal government will have already been decisively proven impotent at stopping the states from doing whatever they want.
Because the easiest way to destroy hollywood which supports communism and free food, housing, medical care, drugs (the recreational kind), TVs and smartphones for all is to make all ENTERTAINMENT free as well.
Stealing food. Good.
Stealing housing. Good.
But steal entertainment? FELONY.
(Yes, this is somewhat facetious - I believe creators rights should be protected along with all personal property rights and capitalism.)
So, I'm a bit unclear on this. Will this make sites like Gogoanime and Watch Cartoons Online illegal in the U.S.? Will streaming cartoons and anime from those sites be a felony or will only those who upload such things be at risk of legal action? How will this affect YouTubers who review stuff like AVGN or Doug Walker? How will this affect people like SMG4 who make machinima?

This is horrible...
That depends on your point of view.
If, like, your objective is for people to lose all respect for the legitimacy and power of the state as a prelude to the collapse of the union, then this is good news everyone.
Decent point, but one doesn't necessarily precede the other.
Maybe, but social engineering is prone to paralysis by analysis.
If you think about that sentence long enough, you'll understand why actual social engineers never have an actual fucking plan, just a hypothesis.
So, you're saying eventually enough people will see what the elite are doing and get pissed enough about it to enact a revolution of sorts?
They already are and have been for a while.

I think we're still a couple decades from that.
Not in this lifetime, 100% guaranteed.
You really think the people will do nothing for another 50-80 years.
I get being blackpilled but your cynicism is unfounded.
What the globalists are doing is highly unsustainable even in the short term.
The globalist elite are making it so many people won't even have bread on the table and that there won't be any circuses to placate the masses.
This won't end well.
"Life on Earth sucks? Then prepare for a better life - in SPACE!" (Insert that silly bit from Command & Conquer with Tim Curry here.)
Because risking dying on a Moon or Mars colony will look preferable to what they have planned for the Earthbound.
almost like it isn't about the virus.
