After announcing a mandatory migration from Mojang to Microsoft accounts last month, now there are moderators ready to permanently ban Community Guidelines breakers from all versions of Minecraft.
They currently only monitor Realms and "Featured Servers", not private servers. It's unknown whether in-game voice chat is being monitored.
God the tone of that announcement was so irritating.
"What adventures you'll have setting up new accounts, ho, ho! There are many, many advantages you'll receive, such as two factor hassles and, wait for it... a free cape!! Oh, and you'll be glad to know that you'll be stuck with your JAVA version Minecraft instead of a migration to Minecraft for Windows 10."
I know you're saying there's a ton of kids who play the game, and you're right, but it's one of the most popular games ever sold, and has millions of mature players, so don't be so dismissive.
Dude, age-shaming over games is kind of worn out. I remember when it was considered silly for adults to play video games, period; don't you know space invaders is just a fad for babies? And boys only play it because it attracts girls ....
That being said, just looking at screenies of minecraft gives me migraines, I was happy to say "good riddance" to the 8-bit era ...

I still enjoy playing it every now and then, and I'm 27.
i just recently even got my legos from the attic.
granted i just built a case for my raspberrys and tv-cards to hide behind the tv, but still it counts as me staying young and awesome, damn you!

I wasn't shaming as much as explaining why such a system would be implemented.
Eh, I give it a go every once in a while, and I'm 40.
Granted, though, that is mostly to make something for the kids...
I've been thinking about firing it up again. BTW, I wish I was forty. Forty was a long, long time ago.
