He's worse than that.

He has actively contributed to the division and polarization of this country. He, and the others of his ilk - Jimmy Kimmel, Noah Trevor, John Oliver, Don Lemon - and the granddaddy of the whole modern leftist snark-monster "political comedian" phenomenon - John Fucking Stewart - have been at the helm of the whole "Divide the country by pretending like we're the smart ones, and calling their political opponents stupid" thing.

When Colbert went on the air after the 2016 election, and mourned how the country was so divided, and acted like Trump (and the "White-lash"!) was the result of people not being respectful of / nicer to the other side, it was literally the most brain dead, hypocritical, totally lacking in self introspection thing I had ever seen. That asshole had literally spent his entire fucking career ripping on half the country - calling them racist, calling them stupid, calling them heartless - and he was going to sit there and talk about how "we" (What he really meant was "they" - i.e., his opponents) needed to be nicer to each other?

Fuck off.

When you go online, and you see people from the other side treating you like you are sub human filth for not being a leftist like them, know that assholes like Colbert are a big part of the reason they think like that. He is part of their conditioning.
