There is a reason George Orwell's 1984 was set in England. I have come to the conclusion that somehow, Orwell knew all those years ago that the peoples of England were predisposed to bowing down to authoritarian systems such as those described in his books (see also; Animal Farm), as well as the parallels to subsequent communist regimes that would rise in the years after his death.
