I'm honestly kind of curious as to how and why they went with all this dungeons and dragons sounding shit almost a century before tolkien popularized any of it.
Between the robes, capriotes, and burning crosses, pretty much everything about their whole aesthetic is bizarre. I cannot for the life of me understand how they arrived at these things, coming from their starting point of 'I hate niggers, whitey number 1'. The celtic cross, I understand. The blood drops, I understand. The rest of it? No fucking clue what they were smoking.
Around the turn of the 20th century, secret societies were all the rage, that's something like a cross between a frat and the freemasons. They all had weird titles and robes. Some of them are still around. The KKK was modeled in the same vein.
They were founded during the Reconstruction after the Civil War. A lot of their founding was also rebellion against the government and attempting to usurp and reclaim power they considered rightfully theirs.
Look at most organizations like that and the only unique thing about them is how open they were about it. Their shit is no more weird than all the weird shit surrounding the Elites in our country. Pizzagate being real or not, the stuff it revealed about those people's daily lives is equally bizarre and fantastical.
Reminder: AP is part of the propaganda machine that's in bed with the parasitic "ruling" class via secret think tanks like the Council on Foreign Relations(founded by the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, the Morgans), the Trilateral Commission (co-founded by David Rockefeller and where Jeffrey Epstein was a member), and the Bilderberg Meetings (founded by Prince Bernhard, former Nazi member & Józef Retinger) and where Bill Gates is/was a member).
This is one of the tricks they use. What people care about ("Did Biden eulogize a KKK member?") is true, so they add some conditional to it. In this case, they change the claim to a subset of KKK members. People will look at the headline and say, "Oh OK", ad move on.
Yeah, I take issue with the use of the word "former". Sure, the piece of shit claimed in '52 that he left the klan and that it was a mistake. But then in '64, he personally fillibustered the Civil Rights Act for 14 hours he hated black Americans that much. These scum are all the same, obvious racists who blame others for their crimes.
Republicans claim Trump is not literally Hitler.
Fact Check - Liar liar, pants on fire. While not literally Hitler, he is figuratively Hitler.
This is the logic these "experts" use.
Gotta give it to the KKK, they have the best names.

"Fact" "check" from the Associated "Press".
Very 1984.
The KKK has an "exalted cyclops" rank?
How surprised should I be that the AP apparently has very deep knowledge about the inner workings of the KKK?
I'm sure they pulled it from the wikipedia article. Anyone have real knowledge of the Klan's rank structure? I don't trust the searchable internet.

The image above was shared on Twitter by none other than Julian Assange which resulted in his account being taken down.
