Legally, if Joe dies, does Kamala still get elected?

The Electoral College can pick whoever they like. They could decide the votes were for Joe, not Kamala, and give them to Trump as the runner-up. They could pick someone else entirely.

Hillary Clinton is a delegate to the Electoral College from the state of New York.
