Yoo Contra Hard Corps is good. I should replay one of my old favorites more often, Altered Beast. And Sim Golf is an old one I had a lot of fun with as a kid, I should look into it again.

FTL, man I love that game (for the gameplay, story is.. yeah) I also greatly enjoy most souls-likes, usually enough new ones come out that I don't terribly need to replay any of them so I guess that doesn't really count for what the OP put. (Monster hunter is the same in this regard)
