I think many in the younger generations forget that technology and the internet are still relatively new in the grand scheme of things.
There's still vast amounts of people all over the country without high-speed internet, or who are simply too old to have much interest in learning it.
They have to get their news from somewhere. Funnily enough, that's more than likely who much of this bullshit propaganda is aimed at. Since they tend to lean more right in those places, or those age groups.
That's just my opinion, though. I'm sure theres more to it.
