There is an argument to be made that the very existence of "thug culture" is behind that too. Simply because affluent kids love to rebel.

When Brayden the suburb kid rebels, he has to join pot smoking marxists who used to be harmless if stupid. When Traymichael rebels he joins a street gang, and ends up in the cycle anyway.

Something about it just draws them in even when they have none of the generic excuses to do so.

The problem is that poor white kids only resort to behavior that results in prison time around 2.7% of the time. That's a pretty massive discrepancy. If the best conditions in the development of black kids produce results 4x worse than the worst conditions for white kids... well, it should at least make you go 'hmmm'.

There's the tired argument of black kids being arrested more than white kids due to systemic racism (which I really don't think you ascribe to), but all you have to do is look at homicide, a crime that is highly unlikely to show racial bias, and the idea that it's systemic bias falls apart.

That's the point I was getting at. There is a specific aspect of black lives, in this case I am putting forth the "thug culture", that makes them act criminally or worse regardless of factors that would normally decrease such results.

Something draws them to it that is not doing so for other groups, and that might be the root cause of all their problems.

The high distribution of the low functioning MAOA-2r variant, and its mechanical effects on breaking down hormones and neurotransmitters that amp people up and make them paranoid, violent, and impulsive, would be my guess.

That's a hypothesis, sure, but that's all it is.

Well yeah, that's why I said there is an argument to be made in favor of said theory. All we have are many different hypothesis because there are too many factors to properly nail down exact science.
