These companies should play by Apples rules then and let Apple eat itself (ha!)
Mark up all apps on the Apple app store by 30% compared to all other platforms. Tell the consumers via press release that this 30% is "The Apple Tax."
Fine. Make it the same price, but raise it 30% across the board and just add special promotions for other platforms that work as coupons or some such.
I'm sure's there's workarounds; there always is. Just have to find it.
They could just as easily jack prices 30% across all platforms and tell people to complain to Apple. Theres always something, doomer. It's just a matter of how far they wanna go.
Hell, FB could just pull the app and I guarantee the problem would be solved in no time. Apple wouldn't want an exodus to droid.
God damn you must have like a dozen iq points. How are you so much smarter than every company who has released an app? please forgive us plebs who are unable to think like an utter genius like you so clearly are.
Is this not a standard cost practically everywhere? What is with big corporations whining about other big corporations not hosting their content free? Why is this Facebook's reaction?
App stores should be charging for download bandwidth and hosting i.m.o. instead of trying to make money on literally every payment on the platform. But they won't do that because they make a lot of money from gacha whales.
And if you as a consumer dont like it dont buy apple stuff. If you dont likd it as a business create your own platform. Its not like Facebook doesnt have one.
Seriously do you question the markup a store makes. Guess what its more than 50%.
I wonder what markup Facebook takes from advertisiers? Perhaps they should publish thaf as well. I bet their costs are as low as Apples.
I'm guessing Zuck is on the phone to Tim Sweeney.

Wish I could make this idea a reality.
Unfortunately, Apple requires that all in-app purchases be the same price as buying anywhere else.

Haha you seriously think apple left such a large loop hole in their agreement?
Where there's a will there's a way.
If you wanna be a doomer, that's up to you.
If you want to be the same as libs and live in a fantasy world, be my guest.

This is the closest we'll get of a corporation war, it isn't as exciting as Cyberpunk 2020 makes it to be but I'll take it.

I don't think apple is hosting facebook's content, only their app.
Also other payment processors you can use trough your browser or phone charge way less than 30%. Fox example: Paypal charges only 2.9% + 30 cents for payments to vendors from the U.S. in the U.S. if the amount is higher that $10.

Is this a business deal or a charity? Why should they host apps at cost, and not make a profit off it?
