34 Apple rejects Facebook app that tells users Apple takes 30% cut of in-app purchases (archive.is) posted 4 years ago by altmehere 4 years ago by altmehere +34 / -0 19 comments share 19 comments share save hide report block hide replies
I don't think apple is hosting facebook's content, only their app.
Also other payment processors you can use trough your browser or phone charge way less than 30%. Fox example: Paypal charges only 2.9% + 30 cents for payments to vendors from the U.S. in the U.S. if the amount is higher that $10.
App stores should be charging for download bandwidth and hosting i.m.o. instead of trying to make money on literally every payment on the platform. But they won't do that because they make a lot of money from gacha whales.
Is this a business deal or a charity? Why should they host apps at cost, and not make a profit off it?
