First of all: Marriage in it's current form does not fix the problem of children raised in single parent households and it will not fix this problem as long as no-fault divorce, alimony, child support and preferential treatment of mothers in custody-cases are a thing.
And second of all: You did not answer what's in a marriage for a man in the west.
